FENIX NTM (Nano Tech Matt) is a high-pressure laminate developed by Arpa Industriale in Italy. What distinguishes it from standard laminate is not just the surface finish — it's the technology behind it. Next-generation acrylic resins are hardened through an Electron Beam Curing process, producing a surface with near-zero light reflectivity (8–16 gloss units), a soft-touch feel, and the ability to thermally heal minor micro-scratches.
For specifiers, the practical case is straightforward: a surface that doesn't show fingerprints, doesn't glare under overhead lighting, and self-repairs through a maintenance team's normal routine is a surface that performs well across the full lifecycle of the project. The design case runs deeper — a FENIX surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it, which tends to let the casework recede visually and give the room's other architectural elements more presence.
Four Properties
8–16 gloss units — near-zero light reflectivity. The surface absorbs rather than reflects, which means no glare under overhead lighting, no mirrored reflections, and a visual presence that lets other elements in the room read more clearly.
The Electron Beam Curing process produces a surface that resists fingerprints and smearing in high-contact environments. Critical in reception areas, storage walls, locker runs, and anywhere the casework is touched repeatedly through the day.
FENIX NTM's most distinctive property: superficial micro-scratches can be thermally healed through the application of a warm iron or cloth. The nano-tech surface resets rather than showing wear. Not visible damage repair — molecular-level surface recovery.
Rated for horizontal surfaces including work counters, with resistance to dry heat up to 302°F (150°C), abrasion, and household cleaning agents. FENIX is specified for both vertical faces and horizontal work surfaces without changing product.

seen in person.FENIX Blu Fes — named for the Moroccan city Fez, where the characteristic blue appears in mosaics, wall paintings, and spices — is installed in the Joynn'd showroom. What the swatch doesn't communicate is how the ultra-matte surface behaves under real lighting conditions: the color deepens, the surface reads as material rather than coating, and the room's light sources don't appear in the finish.
All FENIX colors in the Joynn'd palette can be ordered as samples before specification. For a project where the finish will be the primary surface in the room, a physical sample under the project's actual lighting conditions is not optional — it's part of the specification process.
When to Specify
the right surface for the room.FENIX is not the right call for every surface. In applications where finish variety, grain, or warmth is the primary specification driver, Wilsonart woodgrain laminates carry more range and a broader color library. Where FENIX earns its place is in programs where the surface will be touched frequently, where maintenance has to be factored into the specification, and where the visual logic of the room calls for a surface that holds its ground rather than competes.
Reception walls, locker runs, storage walls in open-plan offices, conference room credenzas — these are the environments where FENIX anti-fingerprint and thermal-healing properties translate directly into a surface that looks specified on day one and still looks specified two years later. For furniture dealers, it's also a surface that photographs well and holds its appearance in showrooms and demo environments.
